[News] Forget the Galaxy S3, The Galaxy Note 2 is what I want!

A Rumored-Concept of the Galaxy Note 2

Hello and welcome back guys, to a fresh new edition of NZ TechBlog! I have been away on holiday and now have come back! I am now catching up to all the latest news again and here is my first post! Now as I think about it, I will not buy the Galaxy S3 (This device hardly impressed me! but then again, S-Voice apk is now leaked out and I've yet to try it out), but wait till the Galaxy Note 2 comes out (if it will, but rumors are predicting it should be on the cards of Samsung) and hopefully that device will impress techies like me!

The Samsung Galaxy S3 was without a doubt the most hyped Android smartphone of 2012. However when it was officially unveiled, it was definitely met with mixed reactions.

We got the 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display and even the quad-core processor, however speculations of a 12-megapixel camera, ceramic case and 2GB RAM were shot down, basically kicking the S3 off its pedestal.

Samsung Galaxy S3 may have its fair share of rivals but coast looks clear for a Galaxy Note 2

Now while it may still be considered a powerful smartphone and worthy successor to the Samsung Galaxy S2, it comes in pretty close in terms of specs to other smartphones like the HTC One X and rumored upcoming Motorola DROID RAZR HD and Apple iPhone 5. What it doesn't touch however is the Samsung Galaxy Note which continues to sell strong despite its age.

The only 'phablet' readily available on the market now, the Samsung Galaxy Note surprised critics and sold over 5 million units in 5 months. Now with a leaked T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note surfacing recently and rumors of a Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note / Journal continuing to gain steam, it looks like the Samsung Galaxy Note will continue to be a popular choice among Android buyers looking for something different. And that's why we can confidently say that a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is in the cards.

With Samsung Galaxy branded products generally sharing the almost identical architecture, it wouldn't be surprising if the Samsung Galaxy Note takes the major upgrades of the Samsung Galaxy S3 (TouchWiz Ice Cream Sandwich tweaks, wireless charging, quad-core processor) and couples it with a massive 720p display and advanced stylus support. And with the Samsung Galaxy Note being a first-generation 'phablet', we can expect Samsung to have since worked out some kinks as well as found new intuitive ways to put a smartphone with such a massive display into use.

The 'phablet' market remains untouched and the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will be the one to watch for this year (Yep! That's me folks!). We could expect the Galaxy Note 2 to make its way to our shores before the year is up. Anyone else excited over the prospect of a next-generation Note? I know I am!
